- Observation — observe the experiment and record results.
- Analysis — interpret the results.
What happened:
- Did the experiment improve or decrease the numbers? By how much?
- What was the difference between the result and our prediction?
- What type of longer term effect does this have on our growth?
Why did it happen:
- Why did the experiment succeed or fail?
- Why did it massively outperform (or underperform) expectations?
Applying the learnings:
With every experiment the owner has to talk about how the learnings can be applied moving forward. There’s two ways:
- Add any new experiment ideas based off the learnings to the backlog.
- Adjust our priorities for experiments in the backlog based off the learnings.
